REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY MASS NEXT WEEK AT 11.30 A.M.(November 13th)   

Because of the Remembrance Sundayparade in the town our Sunday morning Mass next week will be at 11.30 a.m.  Beware of road closures on the day

 NOVEMBER HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES are now available in the Church porches.  Enclose the names of your loved ones and your offering and return them with the Sunday offertory collection or through the Rectory letterbox.  Your departed will be remembered in all the Holy Souls Masses during November and their names enclosed in the book of the dead. 

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION INSTRUCTION:  for children year 3 and above who are not at Catholic Schools will now start on  Saturday November 19thin the Pugin Room at 3.30p.m.  (and not on Saturday Nov 5thas previously announced)If you wish your child to attend,contact Fr. Michael or Penny Bedingfield on 01628 486579.  Names needed ASAP so books can be purchased. 

TWA ANNUAL HOME MADE PRODUCE SALE Sunday 27th November 9 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. in the Pugin Rooms.  Please come and buy our delicious pies, cakes, chutneys, jams and marmalade.  There will be a raffle and we shall be serving teas, coffees, bacon rolls and mince pies.  Come along and help us support families in the developing world 

NEW ALTAR SERVERS.We have vacancies at present for new Altar Servers for all Sunday Masses.Training takes place on Sundays at 9.45am for about 1 hour between the two masses.  Classes will commence on SUNDAY 6th NOVEMBER.   These usually continue for a few weeks until the children are confident enough to serve.If children are involved in sports on Sunday morning I would hope to be able to train them at another time – perhaps evening.  If this is the case, please let me know.If you wish your child to serve, please call and leave a message including your telephone number. ANNIVERSARIES:  Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur about this time:  Henry Turner, Daphne Tulloch, Austin Archer-Brierton, Francis Cooper, Jessie Cochran, James Deegan, Linda Sawa, Agnes Shaw. May they rest in peace.

COLLECTIONS: Last week’s collection amounted to £489 plus £390 standing orders: total £889.Many thanks.

MASS INTENTIONS:  If you wish to book a Mass intention, either post your request with the offering through the Rectory door or see me after Mass on Sunday. Try and give as much notice as possible so that you are not disappointed with the date. 

ACTS OF THE APOSTLESThe course on the Acts of the Apostles continues at 8.00 pm on 22nd &29thof November at St Teresa's Church, Beaconsfield (behind Waitrose).  It will be led by scripture scholar, Fr John Hemer MHM,.All are welcome for these lectures and each lecture is stand alone.      

BAPTISMS:  Baptisms take place on the first Sunday of the month.  Parents should telephone me to arrange to come and see me to prepare for baptism and book the date at that preparation meeting.  

 

CAR PARK:Please note that contracted cars have been allocated the spaces numbered 1 – 23 for the hours 0700 to 1900 on weekdays.  Please do not park in these bays during the specified times

 

 

A reminder that Catholics are called by the bishops  to abstain from meat on all Fridays, so that as a community we might proclaim our thanks to Jesus Christ who died on a Friday that we might have eternal life.

 

 

THE BIG MESSIAH.Marlow Choral Society (of which several St.Peter's parishioners are members) and Princes Risborough Music Society are joining forces, with soloists and a full orchestra, for a performance of Handel's 'Messiah' on Sunday 27th Nov. at 7.30pm at the Swan in High Wycombe. It is a Messiah with a BIG difference.  It's Handel's ageless masterpiece, but as orchestrated by Sir EugèneGoossens in 1959, a carnival of sound with extra oboes, brass and timpani, and a galaxy of percussion..  It remains a rarity, and undoubtedly a first for Wycombe.It’s the Messiah you know and love, but with added glory. LUX:  Bookings are now open for the next series of residential weekends for young people: “lux”.  The next weekend is in Northampton Feb 3rd-5th 2012.   Cost £85.  Fr. Timothy Radcliffe will be speaking.  For details www.nymo.org/halo. 

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD All children (especially from 0 -8) are very welcome to come along to Children's liturgy, which takes place during the 11am Mass at St Peter's. Just after the beginning of Mass, the children are invited to process to the liturgy room. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . There is no need to be a qualified teacher - a book with the lesson plan is provided & helpers generally teach once every 6 weeks. Secondary students, who are hoping to train as teachers, might find it useful experience.   

 PEOPLE’S MISSALS can now be pre-ordered from the Catholic Truth Society website.  Sunday Missals are expected to be available from November and Weekday Missals from the New Year. (Other publishers are also providing new missals.)
