FIRST HOLY COMMUNION INSTRUCTION:

Our Thursday evening course continues this week from 7.30 p.m. – 8.45 p.m.

 

CHURCH CLEANING HELP URGENTLY NEEDED

Because of changed circumstances our Church cleaners have dwindled from 18 to 12.  We urgently need more helpers.  With a full complement it only takes an hour every six weeks.  Please see Phyl Yeoman after Mass or contact her on 01628 484269

ITEMS OF STORAGE   When the new Hall was built, additional storage space was provided with access from the rear of the Pugin Rooms. This store is now very untidy and full of items many of which appear to be of little or no use.New shelving is to be provided in the store to make more effective use of the space.Would those with any items in the store which they wish to have retained please identify them and arrange for them to be labelled no later than 31 December 2011. Any items not identified and labelled will then be removed and destroyed. 

FEAST OF ST FRANCIS XAVIER PATRON  SAINT  OF  GOA  and a Service of Thanksgiving for the Pilgrimage to the Holy Land Saturday December 3rd 2011  at 7 pm  Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament,  7:30 pm  Holy  Mass  followed by get-together at St Andrews Shared ChurchWashington Drive  Slough,  SL1 5RE  All welcome - Please bring a plate to share and join us  for  Reception in  the Church Hall. 

RED BOX HOLDERS  Many thanks to all who have returned their Red Boxes.  Total raised £377.  Next year’s calendars are available in the Church porch for Box Holders. 

CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARDS  We all send Christmas cards and we all have a favourite charity.  This year why not combine both and visit “Cards for Good Causes” at the United Reform Church opposite Platts Garage in Marlow.  Over 25 charities are represented, everything from cards, wrapping paper to all those extra fiddly bits you need to make that present ‘special’.  Open Mon – Sat 10am – 4pm. 

ANNIVERSARIES:  Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur about this time John (Sean) Fox, Kathleen O’Callaghan, AdeaArb, Doris Barnett, Anne Burden, John Slattery and Joyce Tomaszewski.May they rest in peace. 

COLLECTIONS: Last week’s collection was £689 plus £390 standing orders: total £1079. Many thanks.

MASS INTENTIONS:  If you wish to book a Mass intention, either post your request with the offering through the Rectory door or see me after Mass on Sunday. Try and give as much notice as possible so that you are not disappointed with the date.

A reminder that Catholics are called by the bishops  to abstain from meat on all Fridays, so that as a community we might proclaim our thanks to Jesus Christ who died on a Friday that we might have eternal life.

CENSUS FORMS are in both Churches.  Return either with your offertory collection or through the Presbytery letter box. 

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD All children (especially from 0 -8) are welcome to attend Children's liturgy, which takes place during the 11am Mass at St Peter's. Just after the beginning of Mass, the children are invited to process to the liturgy room. Parents of younger children are also welcome to attend.   

LUX:  Bookings are now open for the next series of residential weekends for young people: “lux”.  The next weekend is in Northampton Feb 3rd-5th 2012.   Cost £85.  Fr. Timothy Radcliffe will be speaking.  For details www.nymo.org/halo. 

BAPTISMS:  Baptisms take place on the first Sunday of the month.  Parents should telephone me to arrange to come and see me to prepare for baptism and book the date at that preparation meeting.  

PEOPLE’S MISSALS can now be pre-ordered from the Catholic Truth Society website.  Sunday Missals are expected to be available from November and Weekday Missals from the New Year. (Other publishers are also providing new missals.)
